Gallery Rifle Shooting
Type: Gallery Ranges at Bisley include Cheylesmore, Melville and Winans.
Distance: 5 – 50 yds
Gallery rifles can be .22, .22 magnum, 357 or .44 calibres, bolt action or underlever. It is also possible to shoot Long Barrelled Pistols provided you have them on your Firearms Certificate. The targets can be static but may also be turning targets
Gallery rifle is often shot under cover which is a great feature in the winter.
Gallery rifle ammunition is cheaper than most full bore so it does make a good option when considering the cost of a shooting session.
There are many competitions organised by the NRA for Gallery Rifle shooting, including Spring Action Weekend, The Phoenix Meeting, Autumn Action Weekend and the Trafalger (late October)
Cheylesmore is a gallery rifle range, accomodating all pistol calibres from .22 to .45 and .22 rimfire rifles including magnum. OSM has hosted many great evenings on this range, providing hot food for our guests, while the shooting continues. We regularly hire this range for our tuesday evening club night and guest evenings. Members and Guests can expect a dedicated shooting lane, professional RCO supervision, guidance and support for any shooting issues together with our famous club banter and camaraderie.
Melville is a Gallery Rifle Range accommodating all pistol calibres and famous for its advancing targets and permissions to shoot Black Powder pistols. Melville range often features on our club Guest days.
Winans is a Gallery Rifle Range that is also suitable for Practical Shotgun.
